Hradec Králové Anglophone Conference will take place on 28 - 29 March 2019

The keynote lecture 

"Ulster Says No" - Again? David Ireland's Cyprus Avenue, Cliché, and Brexit

will be delivered by   

prof. Ondřej Pilný, Ph.D.

(Charles University, Prague)


The purpose of the conference is to bring together university lecturers, school teachers and scholars in Anglophone Studies working in this country and abroad, to disseminate knowledge about their work in the field, and to follow up in systematic academic research in the field. Participation of undergraduate and postgraduate students is also welcome. We welcome contributions from the following fields of Anglophone studies:

  • Linguistics 
  • Literature 
  • Cultural Studies
  • Methodology (ELT)


The conference language is English. Presentations can include lectures, workshops, seminars, poster demonstrations (for formating see Stylesheet) and exhibitions of materials. Selected contributions will be published in the peer-reviewed journal  Hradec Králové Journal of Anglophone Studies (included in ERIH PLUS).

The conference fee covers a complimentary copy of Hradec Králové Journal of Anglophone Studies, tea/coffee refreshments during breaks, dinner reception on 28 March 2019.
